Global Synthesis in Education Journal has published its inaugural issue featuring 8 articles that provide insights into various contemporary issues in education. Topics covered include analyzing gender bias in textbooks, student perspectives on online writing classes, teachers’ use of speech acts for engagement, integrating technology to build critical thinking, teacher experiences with contextual learning approaches, motivating recreational reading, use of Canva for better learning outcomes, and challenges in acquiring proficiency in the Bugis language. The articles highlight issues using empirical data and ethnographic studies, offering recommendations to advance pedagogical practice and policy. This diverse first issue establishes the journal as an important platform for disseminating research and ideas to stimulate intellectual discourse for advancing education globally. Submissions of empirical and review articles are welcomed for upcoming issues.
